On the Mind Body Peak Performance podcast, host Nick talks with Darlene Tian, a volunteer firefighter and first responder since 1998 who became a naturopathic practitioner and is working on a PhD in natural medicine. She describes her study: 12 healthy adults aged 35 to 65 put 5 ml (one teaspoon) of two-week-old aged first-morning urine rectally with a needleless syringe every day for two weeks. She says inflammation dropped most consistently, along with lower stress, better sleep, better heart rate and oxygen levels, and that people kept improving for months afterwards. She calls urine sterile unless there is an active infection, a plasma ultra-filtrate full of the body's own stem cells, hormones, vitamins and minerals, and says aged urine grows more stem cells but can bring stronger detox reactions. She says companies collect urine from porta-potties to extract components for drugs and creams. Her own biggest results, she says, are on burns and bug bites: her wife's burned hand, washed repeatedly with urine, did not blister and healed in days without a scar, and she used it on a wasp sting. She says people report taking urine under the tongue after snake, scorpion or spider bites. She suggests a urine cloth on the host's sore back, urine on the scalp for hair loss and psoriasis, starting with a drop and working up slowly, and says she did a three-day urine fast.
