Urine therapy explained

Watch on YouTube

A clear, comprehensive explanation of urine therapy for beginners.

What this video covers

In this recorded webinar, Ayurvedic practitioner Cate Stillman of Yoga Healer presents what she calls the P Workshop. She says urine therapy goes back to the Damar Tantra, which she describes as 107 verses in which Shiva tells Parvati his secret is drinking his morning urine, and that the Buddhist Pali Canon names fermented urine as a monk's medicine. She describes urine as a filtrate of blood plasma, ties it to the Ayurvedic idea of rasa dhatu, and lists what she says it contains: about 95% water, 2% urea, amino acids, hormones, stem cells and growth hormone, comparing this to the PRP knee injections she paid for. She argues urine is antiseptic rather than sterile. She describes how people use it: a few drops on the skin or under the tongue to begin, swishing, sniffing, foot baths, enemas, and urine aged in dated jars under cheesecloth, which she says grows stronger over months. She also mentions cow urine supplements sold in India and US patents on cow urine, a reported ban in Hong Kong, amniotic fluid, and an Irish grandmother tradition of rubbing babies with urine. She advises people who feel detox symptoms to slow down rather than stop. She speaks from about three months of her own practice.
