On the Art of Fuel podcast, host Anthony Manuel talks with Nick Caputo of the Caputo Method, a breathwork coach. Caputo says he had heartburn and acid reflux all his life, was on acid pills from age 14, and was very small as a teenager. After breaking his C6 vertebra snowboarding in Colorado, he says he quit drinking and drugs and turned to fruit; within a week of eating only melon and blueberries, he says, his heartburn was gone without a pill for the first time. Breathwork led him to fasting. His longest fast, he says, lasted 126 days: about 90 days on coconut water and cucumber juice in the Dominican Republic, then 21 days drinking only his own urine, looping everything until he stopped urinating, then 15 days with no food or water at all. He says he passed a 10-foot tapeworm while drinking aged urine on a later fast. He says the dry fast felt like days of psychedelics and made astral projection easy, and that he ended it to feel grounded, not from hunger or thirst. He credits urine therapy and semen retention with keeping him healthy and clear-minded where other long fasters grew gaunt, but says nobody has to do either and he does not recommend extreme fasting unless someone is called to it or is recovering from a serious illness. He calls urine a plasma ultra-filtrate holding enzymes, B vitamins, growth hormone, nerve and epidermal growth factors and neurotransmitters, says sanitation companies sell urine to drug and cosmetics companies, and mentions a breatharian in India who was studied and whose bladder reabsorbed its urine. He has since gained 30 to 35 pounds on raw milk, duck eggs, liver and meat, and plans a YouTube series on urine therapy.
